Watsu Pool
Watsu is a gentle form of therapy and takes place in body temperate, waist-deep water. The name is a combination of the words "water" and "shiatsu". It was developed by Harold Dull back in 1980, when he started applying Zen Shiatsu stretches to students floating in the warm pool at Harbin Hot Springs in California. Like all other Mandala Spa treatment areas, the watsu pool is a nurturing sanctuary that provides you with privacy and a connection to nature.
Guided by a philosophy of gentleness, complete acceptance and unconditional love, a lot of people liken the weightless, floating Watsu experience as "going back to the womb"- reminiscent of peace and simplicity during their earliest states, allowing physical and emotional blockages to be gently released. It is a mixture of gentle rocking movements, stretches, and nurturing support in the arms of the practitioner.
Deeply relaxing and intimate, Watsu is for everyone- the young, adolescent, the elderly, pregnant, athletes and those suffering from stress and is beneficial for a variety of orthopedic conditions. An entrancing and completely unique experience.
Mandala Spa and Villas is designed with respect for nature and a keen eye for beauty that pays homage to Boracay's lustrous heritage- an aesthetically pleasing contemporary sanctuary for body and soul. Perched on a small hilltop overlooking Boracay's famous White Beach, the resort is walking distance from the warm turquoise waters and soft sands, still secluded enough to offer privacy and revive.
Mandala Spa and Villas has received the Boracay WOW award twice for its outstanding commitment to the environment and eco-friendly practices.
